Privacy Policy

The short version: We don't collect personal data. We don't sell anything. Your scam checks are processed securely and not stored on our servers.

1. Who we are

Nyzra is an iOS application that helps users identify potential scams. The app is operated by Andrew Hingston ("we", "us", "our") based in Australia.

2. What we collect

We collect as little as possible:

Content you submit for analysis — screenshots, text, URLs, or voice descriptions are sent to our secure server for AI analysis. This content is processed in real-time and is not stored after the analysis is complete.
Device identifier — a randomly generated ID stored on your device, used solely for rate limiting and abuse prevention. This is not linked to your Apple ID or any personal information.
Usage count — the number of checks you've performed, stored locally on your device to enforce free tier limits.

3. What we don't collect

Your name, email address, or phone number
Your location or IP address (beyond what's needed for a network request)
Contacts, calendars, or browsing history
Any data from other apps on your device

4. How analysis works

When you submit content for a scam check, it is sent via an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our secure proxy server. The server forwards your content to Google's Gemini AI for analysis. The AI response is returned to your device. Neither our server nor Google retains your submitted content after the request is processed.

5. On-device processing

Where possible, we process data on your device before sending it to our server. For example, text is extracted from screenshots using on-device OCR (optical character recognition). When OCR succeeds with high confidence, only the extracted text is sent — not the image itself — reducing what leaves your device.

6. Data storage

Your check history and results are stored locally on your device using Apple's secure storage frameworks. This data never leaves your device. You can delete all local data at any time from the Settings screen within the app.

7. Subscriptions

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not process or store any payment information. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple handles payment data.

8. Third-party services

Google Gemini AI — processes scam analysis requests. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store — handles subscriptions and payments.

We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

9. Children's privacy

Nyzra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Data security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Sensitive data on your device (such as authentication tokens) is stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's most secure local storage. We use Apple's App Attest technology to verify device integrity.

11. Your rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there is generally nothing to request access to or delete from our servers. All user data is stored locally on your device and can be cleared from the app's Settings screen at any time.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
